I'm no expert, but can cook a decent palak paneer, dal and chana masala. I guess the ratatouille is Franco-Indian fusion! Or you could contact a specialty produce store near you. Or even ask your market produce dept if they would obtain them for you.

Here's a lady's blogpost on the eryngii (alii) and other mushrooms. As she does, I find I like the aliis for their chewy, meat-like texture. I find the other types are less available and more perishable. Once we got used to the taste/texture, it's really good. The chewiness and flavor is much more satisfying than white rice, in my opinion! Lately we've been starting our days with a green smoothie and I have so much more energy. We use 1 banana plus whatever fruit we have on hand (leftover grapes, apples, papayas, pineapple, etc...) and 3 handfuls of spinach. Blend it all up and drink! It's an easy way to drink your fiber :)) xoxoErikahttp://www.makeupbag.netnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1001201446838369510.post-15688119528294648512011-06-08T00:51:27.152-10:002011-06-08T00:51:27.152-10:00sigh.
